Perinatal Consultation
….this world still does not seem to grasp the dynamics of trying to conceive, pregnancy or parenting
In my years of work, time after time I hear about work places or friends and family not understanding the impact of fertility challenges, pregnancy loss, birth trauma or struggling postpartum. Unfortunately, well meaning Human Resources departments or managers at work don’t often know nuances such as how you can qualify for additional disability leave for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. With targeted education about what to look out for, and how to talk to someone who is struggling with perinatal challenges, employee retention and satisfaction with the employer increases! Outside of the work realm, friends and family can gain a solid sense of how to better support their person struggling with perinatal challenges rather than feeling like you keep stepping in it or beginning to avoid interactions all together because you don’t know what to say.
Examples of past Perinatal Consultations:
What to say and what NOT to say when someone has a pregnancy loss
Training on Trauma Informed Care for Perinatal Healthcare Providers (including specifics like how to approach an ultrasound with those who have had pregnancy loss or medical trauma)
How to understand reproductive trauma and coping tips
All about PMADs (statistics, signs and symptoms, resources)
Contact me directly to set up a free consultation to hear how I can tailor education and tips about your specific perinatal support need and see how my 16 years of expertise can assist you 1:1 or to train an employee group at large.
