I utilize a variety of approaches in therapy, but when it comes to specific trauma work, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is my specialized modality of choice.

Trauma work where you don’t have to share every detail of what happened to you and is evidence-based to resolve in 1-3 sessions.  Whether it be childhood trauma, birth trauma, PTSD or even grief, ART uses bilateral stimulation via Eye Movements to replace negative sensations and images causing the distress symptoms so that you retain the facts of what occurred but without the distress moving forward.  If you are curious to learn more about Accelerated Resolution Therapy, read more about my ART service

Certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

Certification in ART means that I have completed the 3 Day Basic ART Training,  submitted proof of completion of conducting over 30 ART sessions, attended consultation with and become a member of the International Society of Accelerated Resolution Therapy (IS-ART), and passed a competency test.

Perinatal Mental Health Disorders

(aka PMADs - perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, Postpartum Depression…)

Any mental health challenge that occurs during the time period from trying to conceive through the first 2 years postpartum (after having baby)

  • PMHDs are the most common complication of pregnancy (ex: more common than preeclampsia or gestational diabetes)

  • Includes (but not limited to) Anxiety, Depression, OCD, PTSD, Bipolar disorders, during and after pregnancy

  • You may experience things like Intrusive Thoughts (unwanted and distressing thoughts about harm coming to baby) or Panic Attacks for the first time during or after pregnancy

  • Parents of every culture, age, income level, and race can develop perinatal mental health disorders

  • 1 in 5 expecting or postpartum mothers experience a PMHD

  • 1 in 10 partners experience a PMHD

  • 70-100% of parents experience Intrusive Thoughts

PMH-C credentials: I am certified in Perinatal Mental Health through Postpartum Support International (PSI). The PMH-C recognizes individuals with the competency to provide support to individuals experiencing perinatal mental health disorders during the perinatal period.  PSI created the first credential in the world to recognize and create structure around advanced perinatal mental health evidence-based training, exam and continuing education requirements to maintain your certification.
